Throwback Thursday: My first Low country Wedding, April 2013

November 13, 2014

Last month I shared about my cousin’s wedding at Pawley’s Island (HERE). His was not the first low country wedding in the family, his brother’s was back in April of 2013. I was busy, so I never got a chance to write about it, so here it is as a TBT today! It was April 2013 and a lot of fun. His wife is super sweet and it was a great weekend full of family and good food. The wedding was in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina at an old Presbyterian Church and the reception right along the Cooper River with Charleston shining across the water.

The rehearsal dinner was held at a resturant on Shem Creek, where the bride and groom meet working one summer in college. As you can see it was a about to storm... tradition for a storm at a wedding weekend in our family!

Rehearsal dinners are not a small affair in my family.

Dinner... southern BBQ!

Family lunch on Saturday along Shem Creek. It was April... but we were freezing our butts off! A cold front had come through after the storm the night before.

Reception site near the Cooper River Bridge.... the outside patio was pretty, but it was so cold!

The food was mainly heavy appetizers, but they were good! The bucketd of fresh shrimp for shrimp cocktail didn't ever really end!

One of the buffet lines inside with heavy appetizers. It was a really pretty venue inside (if oddly shaped) and the display pieces were nice.
