My friend Gail emailed me a few weeks ago… “get on with the blogging already, enough with this hiatus stuff.” So to jump start me, she decided to write a guest blog. Clearly, we both love the south and are smart asses. Not hard for us to be friends! Enjoy.

Like the southern blogger host here, I too am a “Converted Southerner.” I have lived in South Carolina now for just over 14 years. And it took me a good, oh, 13 and a half years to finally accept this.
I even call shopping carts “buggies.”
Hardcore stuff here.
But there is one major southern trend that I am embracing as hard as I would embrace Jason Statham (if I were ever blessed enough to get close enough to touch him) and that is the MONOGRAM.
My Pinterest page is overflowing with adorable ideas. But then I realized that my life is kinda sorta overflowing with them all of a sudden too. For myself AND Bimmer… no woman has been spared in our house.
Since I don’t feel comfortable sharing our exact monograms, I thought I would just share a few similar items that have made their way into rotation around here. (All photos below from Pinterest)
First, it all started with a makeup bag that I had been eyeing for awhile.
From there, I got sucked into a flash sale on Facebook and had to get Bimmer a pillowcase for her big girl bed.
Then Puff got me some seersucker pajama bottoms for Mother’s Day.
The seersucker suckered me in and I had to get Bimmer a new big girl lunchbox for school.
And of course there was another flash sale on Facebook with a turquoise necklace.
When I was planning Christmas gifts, I decided Bimmer needed to get a toiletry bag of her own.
While my mind was on Christmas, I talked Puff into buying me a raincoat to gift to me.
I even went so far to get my friend, Biner, a monogrammed onesie for her baby boy due this fall. (This is from Southern Hands, my favorite place to order from!)
Perhaps I have gone a little bit overboard???
Nah….
I’m just waiting to update Bimmer’s big girl room so I can get her one of these wooden puppies for her wall.
Yup… Rushing Life has gone the way of the preppy southerner. Just don’t expect me to start saying “y’all!”
